Sick ward

Sorry for the off time, guys. We're really sicked-in here. Well, me now, basically. Everyone else seems to be pretty good, George is just fighting a nagging cough, but me, I've decided to outdo everyone and grow a sinus infection, so I'm basically still bedridden except when I'm on baby duty. I'll get more notes and pictures on soon. Still trying to potty train - more trouble with Danny than trying to find food that he likes! :) But I will NOT give up...and I can't go anywhere anyway, so if I have to suffer and be housebound, he has to suffer and be housebroken! :)

Daddy and Danny...sick but stylishly coordinated! Posted by Hello

News from the sick ward

Well, we were officially a "sick ward" this weekend. Starting with Benjamin getting a fever last week, it knocked us all down one by one until we were all comatose and sleeping by Sunday afternoon. We're still recovering today, but thank God George had a holiday yesterday and got to rest before he went back to work and I went back to fulltime baby duty. We'll survive I think - I've started dreaming about St. Thomas. I think my brain wants a vacation even if my body can't go there!

Benjamin sprouts a new one!

Well, tooth #4 appeared today on the bottom left. Now he has matching choppers - two on the top and two on the bottom. Now I feel even worse for him. While he was dealing with this head cold thing we all have, runny nose and fever and all, he was teething on top of that! No wonder he was up all night Wednesday night! He is such a trouper...just like his Grandma! :) You can just feel it now, but I'll post pictures when you can see it better!

Gladware cracks and ziti splats...or Who knew ziti could do that?

Just a word to the wise.....frozen Gladware shatters. Really. Everywhere. In tiny little shards all over the kitchen floor. Trust me. I dropped one last night filled with soup after it had been in the side-by-side freezer for two weeks and watched the lid just shatter in a million pieces like glass. Thank God the soup was good and frozen!

Also, I never knew ziti had the ability to become airborne. Benjamin is teaching me otherwise, especially last night. He is developing a backswing with his dinner plate that Tiger Woods would be proud of. I guess this horrible cold he has is making him a finicky eater, but PLEEEEEASE....not with the ziti. Take one 13-month-old, a plate of baked ziti w/sauce, a white wall and cream colored carpets....recipe for disaster. Never will figure out how Benjamin got some of it into the living room CORNER six feet away BEHIND him. What an arm!

Good MORNING!!! :)

Thassa lotta cwazy....

This is the phrase that Danny decided to repeat at least 200 times while on our short ride in the car today which I took the boys on so that I wouldn't go "cwazy". I don't know why or where Danny got this phrase, except that maybe he took my "you are going to drive me crazy" (because he has been talking NON-stop nonsense 24X7 for DAYS) and turned it around. Quite correctly, I might add! Thank goodness, he decided to doze off for the rest of our 45 minute ride and is once again a charming creature who is content to play trains - quietly - in the playroom while I type this. Poor Benjamin, on the other hand, is just miserable with a nose full of gunk but being such a trooper about it, as usual. He just wants me to hold him 24X7 and that's just not happening! Oh, well, better go...Danny's exhausted his good behavior and I need to monitor his craziness again. :)

Danny hits the shower

Well, it was a rough, tiring weekend, so Danny decided to hit the shower early and save time by brushing his teeth while he was in there! He did a great job and while I was working around the bedroom, he got out and went potty, too! Such a big boy!

Benjamin finally gives up trying to grab the camera so I can get a picture of his cute new outfit from Mom! Posted by Hello

Then Benjamin runs by in a blur trying to get the camera....what's wrong with this picture? Danny is sitting quietly and Benjamin is racing around like crazy! Posted by Hello

It'll be a miracle if I EVER get Danny in preschool...

Because everyone in Columbia and Ellicott City is lining up to get their kids in there, too! I took Danny and Benjamin to the preschool I like today to register him for one afternoon a week this summer and two afternoons a week next school year. The lady at the office had said that registration started at 9am today and if I didn't get there, I wouldn't get a slot. So, of course, I didn't get there until 9:15. I was #44 in line. Ugh. After waiting an HOUR, they were only on #20 and started telling people to leave their forms and they would be put on the waiting list. Great. I herd the boys around for an hour for this? But - thank the Good Lord - when I got up to the front to talk to the woman she said the 2-year-old and morning classes were filled. Yea! I want the 3-year-old afternoon classes. I think I'm in the clear, I just have to wait until they call this week and tell me if it's a go. Oh, please, oh, please, oh, please, oh please.........

Pardon the interruption...

Somehow life got in the way this week. I think it started out with Benjamin waking up at 4:30am on Monday morning - and staying up until 7am. Can't remember much about Tuesday, but I do remember Danny crashed at 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon and I couldn't wake him, so he slept until midnight, then stayed away until 4am and Benjamin was awake at 6am. So days and nights this week have had no meaning. Between working on a) getting Erin's car sold, b) getting papers together for my taxes and insurance filing c) cleaning the house for the reunion/Erin's birthday party next week d) shopping for Erin's birthday next week e) sorting through my maternity and baby clothes and accessories to give to Heather/sell/giveaway to make room for the party next week e) getting over (along with George) a low grade sinus cold and f) seeing and talking to my Mom when I can, I've kind of lost track of my blog - sorry!

Let's see - no new teeth, no new walking skills. Hmmmm...the boys are both getting over a little runny nose from the weekend but are doing much better. Danny is in DESPERATE need of a haircut - he's starting to look very Beatle-esque. Benjamin is doing great and sleeping alot this week. We got his insulated curtain up last weekend and it really helps with the light and cold (somewhat-it's still freezing in his room). Danny is having a ball playing with Benjamin's Thomas the Tank Engine he got for his birthday. Benjamin will probably be very surprised one day to find out it was actually his! :)

Well, off to try to fit in a few more chores before I hand the boys over to George for the night and go have a pajama party with my mom and Diane - should be fun! Mom says her radiation is going well. The treatments are short, she isn't nauseated and her back pain has subsided, thank the Lord. I'll try to get back to this on Sunday and encourage the boys to have more new and startling developments for you!
